Abby Morrongiello

Abby Morrongiello – Point Guard, Graduating 2025

I attend Sachem East High School (Farmingville, NY) where I am a 3-Year starting Varsity Basketball Player and have received All League recognition for my freshman, sophomore and junior years and All Conference my junior year. In addition, I run Varsity Cross Country in the Fall and play Varsity Flag Football in the Spring, where I received an All Division award. I am a third year Basketball Captain leading my team to the playoffs for 3 years.

I am the starting point guard on an AAU team with Premier Basketball (Coach Hafner & Coach Reilly) for 3 years.

Academically I have been in all Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors classes throughout High School. I was inducted into the National Honor Society and have maintained excellent grades throughout my school years. I hope to pursue studies in the health and/or social sciences during my time in college.

I volunteer a significant amount of time with three different organizations including:

–Don8tions, where, as a founding member, we focus on raising funds, using those funds to purchase and prepare healthy products and meals, and donating those meals to families in need,
–HeartBeet Farms, where we planted, harvested, managed farm stands and a CSA.
–Farmingville Historical Society where we supported trail run events, the Trick or Trail Event, the Easter Egg Trail Hunt Event, and a history speaker series.

In addition to volunteering, Abby also works a part time job at Bruno’s Pizza in Farmingville, where she enjoys engaging local customers and occasionally making the pizza!
